Proof of Blaschke's Sphere Conjecture
For a brief history of the problem and a proof under stringent additional conditions see [2]. Let us first recall some of the known facts about such surfaces which we shall use. Proofs may be found in [l, §102]. Normalize the conjugate distance so it equals T. Then every geodesic is closed and has length 2ir. The mapping of any point into its conjugate point (determined uniquely, independently ...
متن کاملTowards Reducing the HMZ Shuffle Conjecture
In her dissertation, Angela Hicks showed that, to reduce the HMZ shuffle conjecture, it is sufficient to find a certain bijection between two sets of two-part parking functions which, roughly speaking, either swaps the two parts of the parking function or transfers a car from the second part to the first part and which satisfies certain nice properties. I will consider a special case where this...
متن کاملNon-Newtonian thermal convection of eyring-powell fluid from an isothermal sphere with biot number effects
This article investigates the nonlinear, steady boundary layer flow and heat transfer of an incompressible Eyring-Powell non-Newtonian fluid from an isothermal sphere with Biot number effects. The transformed conservation equations are solved numerically subject to physically appropriate boundary conditions using a second-order accurate implicit finite-difference Keller Box technique. The influ...
متن کاملParallel transport of Hom-complexes and the Lovász conjecture
The groupoid of projectivities, introduced by M. Joswig [17], serves as a basis for a construction of parallel transport of graph and more general Hom-complexes. In this framework we develop a general conceptual approach to the Lovász conjecture, recently resolved by E. Babson and D. Kozlov in [4], and extend their result from graphs to the case of simplicial complexes.
